I never thought I would work on anything related to Rugby let alone have an opportunity to design Special Commemorative Tickets for the Rugby World Cup. What an absolute honor. 

The client had already worked with a designer to come up with the background plates. It was my task to compliment that established aesthetic. Given the dimensions of the tickets I figured I had one of two ways to go with the copy - work within the box or push it. So I pushed it by setting the copy to an exaggeratedly large size and for one of the few times in my career, abandoned functional design for an aesthetically pleasing outcome.

 

Yeah thats right I thought it looked cool, okay?
