These animated invites were part of a package that also included the design of an event website.

Our team were provided a lockup, copy, and the gradient background with the one-side black frame.

I remember being fixated on the half frame. It was so striking I asked myself, Do I counter the weight on the opposite side or do I embrace the pull of its gravity?

Inevitably a happy coincidence decided the debate when I hastily pushed the logo out of the way and saw it land halfway over the frame. Interesting, I thought. Then I moved the headline copy to counter its weight, just over top of the frame in the opposite corner and could easily see the weight distribution felt right. 

I locked down the rest of the copy to round out the template we ended up using.
